Beaver between water lilies

The Beaver is a short take-off and landing aircraft which is known for its stable construction and is used in backcountry flying all over the world to quickly connect remote areas. The aircraft was developed by the Canadian manufacturer de Havilland Canada and entered service in 1948. What followed was a success story with over 1600 aircraft built and many of them still in service around the world and proving to be very reliable workhorses. Shown here is a DHC-2 Beaver which slowly glides with its floats over a pond overgrown with waterlilies. The painting was created in memory of my wonderful visit to the Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada some summers ago.
